THIASAL E is a palatable powder prepared for addition to the diet of racing and working horses for the prevention and treatment of conditions such as; stess induced dehydration, acidosis particularly from sodium loss in sweating, myositis, 'Typing Up' syndrome, azoturia or myoglobinuria, hypokalaemic anxiety and exciteability, absence of thirst or diminished water intake.

Thiamine hydrochloride (Vit B1) plays a key role in the conversion of muscle waste products lactic and pyruvic acids. A deficiency of B1 leads to accumulation of these acids with subsequent muscle soreness, weakness, weight loss, nervousness and irritability. Although B1 levels in quality grain diets are usually adequate, they can be lowered in over mature grains and hay, and the demand in active working horses may be much higher than normal.
Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is necessary for the integrity of cell membrane tissues and is an essential cofactor in the synthesis of Vitamin C. Deficiency of Vitamin E is characterised by muscle weakness and wasting, high SGOT levels in serum and ECG changes. At recommended dosages, THIASAL E provides 300mg pure alpha tocopherol per day.
Electrolytes - anhydrous sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, bicarbonate and di-sodium citrate provide a balanced source of sodium, chloride and bicarbonate electrolytes.
Potassium Chloride is provided at a somewhat higher level than normal. Cereal grains and feeds are frequently inadequate sources of potassium and racing or hard working horses with low potassium levels show reduced appetite, easy exhaustion, over exciteability and distrurbances in tissue fluid balance.
Mix 30g into feed daily, or dissolve 30g in a fresh bucket (25 litres of water) daily for fussy eaters.
