OMEGA-3 is indicated for allergic and inflammatory dermatoligical conditions in animals.

OMEGA-3 essential fatty acids are proven anti-inflammatory agents. EPA and DHA are not manufactured within the body, and must be available in the diet. The ratio between Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids is rarely correct in the domestic pet diet. Omega-6 fatty acids form the aggresive inflammatory and allergic agents. Omega-3 fatty acids form very mild anti-inflammatory agents and actually block the more severe effects of the harmful Omega-6 fatty acids.

Pentaenoic leukotrienes derived from lipoxygenase products of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and others of the Omega-3 series are 10 to 100 times less inflammatory than the corresponding arachidonic acid products, and inhibit the elaboration of arachidonic acid products. Further, Omega-3 fatty acids are preferred lipoxygenase substrates to Omega-6 fatty acids, so a relatively small change in the animals Omega-3:Omega-6 ratio can have a very significant effect on allergic reactivity.

OMEGA-3 adjusts the ration of fatty acids in the diet to alleviate inflammatory responses.

Give 1 mL per 7 kg bodyweight daily by mouth (or on food).

1 press of pump plunger = 1 g. Give 1 g/7 kg bodyweight on a daily basis. Continue this dose rate for 2 weeks, or until irritation is obviously under control.
