PRE-FERRIN is a fast acting bioavailable iron injection complex in an aqueous base. Iron is essential for correct nutrition in all animal species, as it is involved in many body processes, particularly cellular respiration and oxygen transport (as haemoglobin). Increased iron demand occurs during pregnancy, lactation, recovery from parasitism or haemhorrage, heavy sweating, and increased red blood cell turnover demanded by difficult training and racing schedules. Demand for adequate iron may not be met by normal dietary sources alone in many instances. Iron deficiency from the sources mentioned above is primarily recognised by microcytic, hypochromic anaemia, and is associated with fatigue, poor endurance, pale mucus membranes and depressed growth.
